Apprenticeships

Completed an Apprenticeship?

If you have successfully completed one of the apprenticeships listed below, you have the opportunity to join the CMA as an accredited member, without needing to apply through the normal accreditation process. This is because CMA’s accreditation system is based entirely on knowledge, skills and behaviours in the same way as apprenticeships are. The standards set out for the apprenticeships listed below are also comparable to many competencies within the CMA Competency Framework. The CMA Board has therefore determined that successful apprentices qualify for automatic accredited membership at the following levels:

Apprenticeship Accredited Member category Annual subscription
Countryside Worker (level 2) Associate (ACMA) £45.00
Horticulture or Landscape Operative (level 2) Associate (ACMA) £45.00
Landscape or Horticulture Supervisor (level 3) Associate (ACMA) £45.00
Countryside Ranger (level 4) Practitioner (PrCMA) £60.00

Successful apprentices can of course, join as a CMA member (unaccredited) if they so wish.

If you have successfully completed one of the above apprenticeships and wish to join as an accredited CMA member, please contact admin@countrysidemanagement.org.uk stating which level of accredited membership you are wishing to have automatic entry to and attach a copy of your certificate. The CMA administrator, can then assist you in joining CMA, via the web site, in the appropriate membership category.

The CMA is aware that there are several other apprenticeships available, that may qualify successful holders to automatic accredited CMA membership. Work to assess the apprenticeship standards for these is underway. When the CMA decides that the standards are comparable with the CMA Competency framework, they will be added to the list above.
