Visit Plantlife’s Three Hagges Woodmeadow Reserve to learn what woodmeadows are, how this one was created and is managed for biodiversity.
Woodmeadows are a biodiverse habit, through this session participants will:
- Know what a woodmeadow is and its place in the wider landscape
- Learn how Three Hagges Woodmeadow came into being and how Plantlife is managing it with vital support from the local community
- Consider the features of a woodmeadow compared with other habitat types
- Optional visit to a newly established woodmeadow site.
During the visit you will spend time in the site’s polytunnel where volunteers grow plants from seed, and visit another local site where a newly established woodmeadow is in development. You will also explore Three Hagges Woodmeadow and consider the challenges and successes of creating and managing a woodmeadow.
This event is hosted by Kara Garnett, Plantlife’s Three Hagges Woodmeadow Nature Reserve Manager. It is an outdoor event. Bring a packed lunch or visit the café adjacent.
