A walk around the National Trust’s Hardcastle Craggs Estate to look at Natural Flood Management.

The walk will take in recent examples of physical interventions within the streams of the upper catchment where rangers and volunteers have built leaky dams and restored habitats to slow the flow of water. This work is funded as part of wider flood alleviation plans for the area. Come along and find out how the human beavers are helping their local community to stay dry!

Meet at 10.30am – Midgehole car park (HX7 7AA)

Event will finish by : 3pm at the latest.

Come prepared for cold & wet weather and some hills. Bring a packed lunch. Basic facilities – brew and loo at Gibson Mill.

The walk will be led by the National Trust Ranger team and Ted Talbot from the Yorkshire Water Partnership.
