About this Event
Themes to be covered : River restoration , Keystone species, Reintroduction, Flood mitigation .
Arrive – 9:45 (Tea & Coffee etc)
10:15 – 11:00: A discussion over the ambition of the Riverlands Project – National Trust National Scheme
A brief overview of the project in Piles Mill with presentation from Tom Matchet (Riverlands Ranger) covering uplands/lowlands/woodlands.
11:00 – 12:00: A site visit to the “1st” stage 0 river restoration project in the UK? With some time to discuss practicalities/things learnt.
Lunch 12:15- 13:00
13:00 – 13:30: A discussion/presentation over the practicalities of reintroducing species and what we did.
13:30 – 14:30: Beaver release site visit and discussion over practicalities of this aspect of the catchment scale management.
15:00 – depart
Site visits will require (Wellington Boots), appropriate outdoor clothing. Tea & Coffee provided – Please bring packed lunch.
