Introduction to Tree Identification (Part 1: Buds and Bark)

Suitable for attendees wishing to expand their knowledge of buds and bark, or simply learn a new field skill.
The day will include a power point presentation introducing attendees to the basic forms of buds and bark. The presentation will be supported with handouts (to take away).
The day will then continue with a table top ID quiz handling real twigs and bark.
After lunch a site-wide walk around the site identifying trees in the field using key guides and handouts.
Attendees must wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for the site-wide walk.
Bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided for the workshop and presentation sessions.
