Identification & Monitoring of Butterflies & Day Flying Moths

A day focussing on the identification and monitoring of Butterflies and day flying moths in the UK, led by Butterfly Conservation. We will start off in the Levens Village Hall, looking into the biology, distribution, habits and habitats of British butterflies and DFMs.
The day will also cover how to monitor, best practice and methods including Wider Countryside Surveys, timed counts and site-specific surveys, what the data is used for a how to set up transects.
The second half of the day will be outside (weather permitting!) looking at some great areas for butterflies and taking part in a transect.
Tea/Coffee provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
This event has kindly been organised by the National Trust and hosted by Butterfly Conservation (Cumbria Branch).
CMA Members and National Trust – Free, but a small donation (suggest £5) to cover costs of hall and speakers would be appreciated on the day.)
Non CMA Members £40, plus booking fee.
