Glow Worm Training Day (including night walk and facilities for optional overnight camping – bring your own tent, food and refreshments)
Hambledon Hill NNR is owned and managed by the National Trust. It is a stunning example of an Iron Age Hillfort and is set within spectacular chalk grassland, designated as an NNR and is host to the Glow worm Lampyris noctiluca amongst many other species including both the Chalk hill blue, Adonis blue and the Great green bush cricket. Not to mention the outstanding views of the Dorset countryside which can be enjoyed across the Blackmore Vale and beyond (on clear days).
Come and explore and learn about the ecology of the Glow worm, its habitat and enjoy the night-time privilege of being high up on one of Southern England’s top Iron Age Hillforts with NT Ranger Clive Whitbourn.

Principal theme: Glow Worms and their ecology, chalk grassland flora and fauna, grazing/ habitat management within Hambledon Hill NNR.
