Ecology and Conservation Workshop for Dormice

August 9th @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

As advertised in the winter newsletter the South East Region are launching a new range of training days which specifically help rangers, wardens and volunteers accumulate evidence working towards individual Natural England class licences.

Delegates must indicate their wish to work towards a class 1 licence so the organisers can prepare the correct number of evidence handbooks.

This event is provided to prepare delegates for a class 1 dormice licence.

We will cover the following: current legislation relevant to dormice; survey techniques and field signs; dormice ecology; and dormice habitat and management.

We will then drive the five minutes to the site and carry out a practical inspection of dormice boxes.

Delegates must wear appropriate outdoor workwear, hi vis jackets and sturdy footwear. The site in question is exposed to the elements in places.

All delegates will be given a logbook (if working towards their class licence) and receive a certificate of attendance.

Tea, coffee and biscuits available at periods throughout the day. Bring own lunch.
