EUROSITE - Annual Conference, Dunblane; Scotland, 13-16 September 2010

The EUROSITE conference theme is "The Challenge of Managing Sites in a Changing Environment" (open to anyone).

The IRF European representative (Florin Halauastan or Hombre) has been in touch to confirm that the European Seminar (get-together) originally planned for this year will hopefully now take place next year in the Kaliningrad region of Russia at the Curonian Spit UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a sandy peninsula about 100 km long and 5 km wide up on the Baltic and bordering the Lithuania. Florin was asking for suggestions as to preferred time of the year from potential attendees. It's mainly a summer destination (May to September) as it gets pretty cold in the winter. So let me know if you are interested in attending and what time of year you'd prefer.

Finally - the IRF World Ranger Congress in 2012 will be in Tanzania. I plan to attend and if there's enough interest from other CMA members we could look at organising a group trip to take-in some pre or post congress touring in the region (Tanzania/Kenya). I used to live in Nairobi so have some local knowledge that might be useful.
