Belstead Brook Park is an informal country park extending to almost 300 acres, on the south-western edge of Ipswich. The Park is managed by the Greenways Countryside Project (a partnership between local authorities and the local community) - as "local countryside for local people".
The Park has a very wide range of important wildlife sites and habitats, linked by the Belstead Brook - and is easily accessed by 10,000 local people. All the usual urban fringe countryside issues can be found in BBP, so there will be plenty to talk about during the day!

11.00 – 12.00 - Visit toad colony site, Bobbits Lane and also discuss management for otter/water vole and wetland and meadow management .

This session will include a presentation by Peter Holborn, Countryside Manager, Suffolk County Council on how green spaces can feature in the Government’s ‘Growth Area’ plans for this part of town. Also a chance for people to network with colleagues from around the region.
