Tree Inspection Level 1 - 30th October 2009

Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Totnes Road,
Paignton, Devon, TQ4 7EU

One-day duration aimed at highway engineers, tree wardens, rangers, contractors etc. Also as a preliminary course for contractors, dedicated tree inspectors, assistant and principal Arboricultural officers wishing to complete an advanced programme. This course is assessed and certified

Start: 9.00am
Lunch – (Bring your own Sarnies) or Lunch can be purchased from one of the food outlets at the Zoo
End time: 16.30pm

Objectives:
 Identify obvious defects by visual inspection of the trees from ground level with the aid of binoculars, mallet and a probe
 To record defects and place the tree in a broad category of hazard rating

Identify the required action upon finding a tree with an obvious defect.

Please bring with you binoculars, wooden mallet, probe and writing materials plus clipboard for ease of writing outside. Wet weather clothes etc in the event of it being a wet Devon Day!
