Accredited member

NB Accredited Members have full voting rights

Criteria Countryside/Access and green space managers (active or retired) who can demonstrate achievement of a benchmark standard equivalent to NVQ Level 3
Application Application by standard form and evidence (including completed Members Handbook elements as required) to CMA Admin, checked and sent to Review Panel for assessment.  Review Panel recommend membership/deferral or rejection.  Review Panel advise Board of outcome.
Evidence requirement Experience

Industry relevant job specification (including those working in land management in practical or management or policy development role related to the profession).
At least 3 year’s experience in a role where job description is considered relevant.  Part time roles count pro rata of time.

Competence NVQ level 3 certificate or members handbook competencies signed off by line manager
Qualification – Evidence of HND or equivalent acceptable to Review Panel

Fellow of the Association

NB Fellows of the Association have full voting rights

Criteria Members who have made a sustained and significant contribution to the industry for a prolonged period as field practitioners and/or are contributing to industry by operating successfully at a management/strategic policy level.
Application CV, Statement of achievements in industry during career, supporting evidence and three references (see below)
Evidence of suitability Experience – Active in Industry for 15 years, or 10 years with 5 of those years as CMA Accredited member. Part time roles count pro rata of time.
Competence – Evidence of significant achievement and commitment to the development of the sector and CMA.  Two peer references at least 1 being a recent line manager.
Qualification– Evidence of management, policy, development or training in these fields as deemed appropriate by the Association.
In lieu of qualification: ESSENTIAL: Postholders signed off work & development plans for 2 year period, demonstrating appropriate level CPD in sector related delivery/management/policy subjects

OPTIONAL: Evidence of appointment by assessment against core competencies– CMA would ask to see competencies and evidence of assessment.

OPTIONAL: Evidence of high quality delivery as a field practitioner throughout long service and 3 peer referees (at least 1 being a recent line manager)

Process Managed by a Review Panel on behalf of Board
Application to CMA Admin, checked & to Review Panel.  Panel assess applicant, portfolio and references and recommend membership/deferral or rejection.

Honorary Fellow of the Association

(Formerly known as Honorary Member)

NB Honorary Fellows have full voting rights

Criteria Members who have made a sustained and significant contribution to the industry for a prolonged period
Award Discretion of CMA Board (nomination & secondment to Board and minuted approval of full Board required)
Evidence of suitability Experience & Competence – Evidence of significant achievement, (this may simply be evidence of consistent long service) as assessed by the Association and approved by its Board.  Should ideally include evidence of CMA contribution.
Annual Cost Nil

Annual requirement No specific requirements – at discretion of Board
